CARVIN MALONE… Always beaming with Virgin Islands Pride and wearing something green is dead….
This morning we lost a Virgin Island Patriot who risked his life to protect the lives of every Virgin Islander during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
As a Member of the 4th House of Assembly he served as Minister, Deputy Premier, Backbencher, and Opposition Member all in one term. He’s been places I’ve never been…
Carvin was Born June 12th 1959
He was 64
He was elected to the House of Assembly of the Virgin Islands in the 2019 General Elections on the Virgin Islands Party ticket as an At-Large Member.
He served in the Administration of Premier Andrew Fahie as Minister for Health and Social Development, and for a time as his Deputy.
In a Cabinet reshuffle in May 2022 which saw Andrew Fahie replaced as Premier by Natalio Wheatley, Carvin was removed as Minister, and after a brief stay in the Backbench, he crossed the floor and joined the Opposition. Ironically, before the Term ended he crossed back to the Backbench.
Subsequently, the term ended and the House dissolved in March 2023, and General Elections were held in April 2023, Carvin contested a seat and was unsuccessful.
