Without Much Enthusiasm and With little Motivation, Pleasant Valley is ready to defend championshipAfter two consecutive undefeated seasons, the Reigning Champions showed up with one thing in mind, and that is to crush any and everything in their path.
The District Softball League started on Sunday April 7th, but the Opening Ceremony was postponed until Sunday the 14th. The ceremony was short and designed to acommodate the games schedule, with remarks coming from the District Representative Honorable Julian Fraser RA.
The League has teams from four different Villages in the District, namely: Pleasant Valley; Parson; Cherry Gut; and Albion, conspicuously absent from this year's lineup is Duff's Bottom. Already the defending champions are up 2 games to none, with victories in each of the games this Sunday and last. League games in the District dates back to the late 50's and it has yielded success in the development of one of the territory's best softball teams ever. Today all the best players in the big league are rushing to fill spots on the roster as it has been agreed that if you are in softball, the Village League is the place to be in the Spring. |
